A simple online system used by a website administrator to update, change and maintain website information. These systems are built for use by non-technical users and are made for companies that want to maintain their own website. These applications are often complicated and take time to build but make website maintenance a breeze.
Content Management Systems (CMS)
An application that is used to automatically create, edit, manage, search and publish information to various locations. The information may include text files, data files, audio files, video files, images and web content. These are advanced systems that often have multiple uses.
Online systems that collect data from users and instantly input that data into a database. These applications can be basic or sophisticated with commands activated when certain data or certain criterion of data is received. Examples include online subscriptions, surveys and website searches.
Online systems that collect data from users and email that information to a site administrator. Often a second step needs to be completed by the site administrator. These systems are usually simple and deal with basic information. Examples include information request pages and support contact pages.
Online systems that receive input from users and immediately present results to that user. These systems can be small and simple or very large and dynamic. Examples include online guest books and online tests and questionnaires that instantly turnaround results.
